Many builders turn away customers who have difficult blocks to work on. If you have, or are looking at purchasing a block of land that has a steep slope, tight access or is an odd shape, they’ll likely tell you to find help elsewhere. This isn’t the case at Keibuild Homes.
Our expert team has over 20 years’ experience working on all kinds of blocks. We have beautiful designs that can be tailored for split level living, or we can design something unique to suit.
Split Level Living in Brisbane South
Our customer came to us with a block in Brisbane South that required a split towards the rear of the home. They had a floor plan in mind and we were set with the task to make it work on their block.
Below, we’ve provided some elevations to show you how we designed this home to work on a sloped block. Here, we used a combination of blockwork to the underside of the house towards the front and middle of the home, brick piers to the rear of the home as well as SHS. Retaining work will also be required.
While this might look overwhelming for some, if and when you’re looking for land, don’t be frightened by a sloping block. It could be the perfect block that you’ve always been looking for. We’re more than happy to come and visit the site and give you advice on how to make the land work for your chosen design and for your family.
Here are our top things to consider when designing and building a split level home:
- The direction of the slope across the block. For example, front to back, back to front, side to side or on the diagonal.
- How much slope is running across the block.
- How many splits will be required.
- How many steps are required at each split.
We’ll continue to share more on this home and how it progresses over the coming months.
