With less than one month until Winter, it’s important to take note of how your new Keibuild home could protect you and your family from the cold (and large electricity bills).
INSULATION
We proudly build homes that are bursting with inclusions. While it’s important to choose a builder who has quality internal inclusions like ovens, tiles and more, it’s important that the foundations of your home are energy efficient and will protect you from the heat of Summer and the cool of Winter.
All Keibuild homes come with insulated wall wraps to all of the external walls as well as R2.5 insulation batts to the ceiling. This basically means that your home comes standard with measures that reduce the transfer of heat and cool (keeping your home cooler in Summer and warmer in Winter).
You will also benefit from a 60mm Anticon R1.3 foil-faced insulation blanket to the roof which helps reduce condensation in winter.
CARPETS
Don’t be left paying for flooring after you receive your keys. Our homes come standard with quality carpets to the bedrooms and closed living spaces with a 7mm foam underlay. Floors that are uncovered can account for a 10 – 20% loss of heat, so carpets in these rooms are a great solution in the cooler months.
DUCTED AIR CONDITIONING
Ducted air conditioning isn’t just for Summer. With our MyPlace system from Advantage Air, you can set your heating to turn on before you get out of bed, or arrive home from a day or night out. You can even choose specific zones to heat and have different temperatures in each zone.
Advantage Air has some great tips on how to run your system effectively in the cooler months here.
6-STAR ENERGY RATING
An energy rating reflects how much artificial heating and cooling is needed to keep the inside temperature of your home within a comfortable range. All Keibuild Homes are built to a 6-Star Energy rating which uses 24% less energy through heating and cooling than a 5-star rated house.*

ORIENTATION & PLANNING
During the planning process, our team will help you decide the best orientation of your home to increase energy efficiency. With proper orientation, you’ll benefit from passive solar heating, cooling and shading which will make your home more comfortable to live in and cheaper to run.
